Covering a total area of 17.6 square kilometers, West Xing Subdistrict administers 13 communities with a total population of 87,032, including 37,656 non-local residents. The subdistrict benefits from convenient transportation facilitated by the Shanghai-Hangzhou, Zhejiang-Jiangxi, and Hangzhou-Ningbo railways, the Beijing-Hangzhou, Zhejiang-Eastern Zhejiang, Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo, and Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou expressways, as well as the Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. Situated on the eastern side of the Hangzhou High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Binjiang), West Xing Subdistrict is also the location of the Party Committee and government offices of the High-tech Zone, as well as the Binjiang District government.
